Because Green is the New Black (and White) in Printing

As the leaves turn golden in New York City’s Central Park, signaling the arrival of autumn, HP Inc. is embracing a season of change in the tech industry. Just as New Yorkers are trading in their summer wardrobes for something more sustainable and cozy, HP is revamping its product line to be more eco-friendly. The company recently unveiled its updated sustainability efforts at the HP Imagine 2023 event, and the initiatives are as refreshing as a crisp fall breeze.

First on the list is HP’s New Device Refurbishment Offering. Much like a seasoned New Yorker knows the value of a well-tailored coat, HP is customizing refurbished devices to individual preferences and requirements. Kicking off with notebooks in France, the program is set to expand globally, including printers and other hybrid solutions. It’s a move that resonates with the city’s ethos of renewal and transformation, as old brownstones get refurbished into modern homes.

In terms of hardware, HP introduced the HP Envy Move All-in-One PC and the HP Spectre Foldable PC, both of which have a strong focus on using recycled materials. The Envy Move uses about 56% post-consumer recycled plastic, while the Spectre Foldable PC incorporates up to 90% post-industrial recycled metal. It’s a nod to New York’s own sustainability efforts, where recycling bins line the streets and sustainability is more than just a buzzword.

On the printer front, HP is launching a reimagined OfficeJet Pro portfolio featuring EvoMore cartridges, touted as the “most sustainable” in their range. These cartridges require fewer replacements and come with an HP Planet Partners recycling envelope. It’s akin to New Yorkers opting for reusable coffee cups as they stroll through the autumn-hued city.

HP’s overall sustainability strategy, led by Senior VP and Chief Sustainability Officer James McCall, extends to its partner ecosystem as well. The company’s Amplify Impact program allows partners to align with HP’s Sustainable Impact strategy, much like New Yorkers aligning with city-wide sustainability initiatives.

As autumn leaves continue to fall, HP’s new sustainable tech solutions seem perfectly in tune with a New York City that’s ever-evolving, yet always conscious of its impact on the planet.
